Gary LeVox of Rascal Flatts Tells TwoTen Magazine Why He Sold Everything to Use His Musical Gift

Tampa, Florida – April 3, 2014 – Gary LeVox of Rascal Flatts quit his job of ten years, sold everything and drove his truck to Nashville, believing God would use the talent he had been given. LeVox’s story appears in the 2nd Quarter issue of TwoTen Magazine, which highlights diverse business leaders who found very different ways to live out the Gospel through their organizations while making the most of their unique passions and gifts.
Long before LeVox became the lead vocalist of Rascal Flatts, he felt another life tugging on his conscience. At the time, he was employed at the Ohio Department of Mental Retardation.
“When I started thinking about moving to Nashville, I truly felt the presence of God standing in that kitchen right next to me,” said LeVox. He prayed, “I think you have given me a certain gift, and I’m just so sorry for not using it.” He quit his job and moved to Nashville. The rest is history, as Rascal Flatts became the best-selling country vocal group of the past decade.
Faith has given Gary LeVox personal confidence to face challenges that have arisen for the band in the world of professional entertainment. LeVox said, “There is never a time that I am ashamed or embarrassed to say that whatever stress and worry we might be going through as a band, God is still in control. He is not going to set us up for failure.”
